Draw cords suitable for use in telecommunications

Our draw ropes can be divided into two main categories:

  1. Blue polypropylene rope

This is a highly popular option for use within the telecommunications and cabling industry.

Thanks to its robust three-strand construction, blue polypropylene rope is very strong and hard-wearing. Even if kept in extreme weather conditions or a severely damp environment, it still maintains its strength and integrity. It’s also resistant to mildew, mould, acids and alkalis.

As a result, it’s the perfect option for prolonged outdoor use – particularly as a draw cord.

For cable pulling, we recommend a diameter of 6mm – 14mm. These are available to buy in various lengths (450m, 500m, 1000m, 1020m), wound on either a plywood or plastic reel.

  1. Orange HDPE duct rope

As part of our online draw rope collection, we also offer orange HDPE duct rope.

This a brilliant alternative to blue polypropylene.

It benefits from a 16-strand high density polyethylene (HDPE) cover, with a polyester core. And as such, is impressively strong – with a minimum breaking load of 815kg (not test certified).

It also has a waxy texture, which significantly reduces friction and allows it to be pulled smoothly through ducts – making the process of cable pulling much quicker and easier. Plus, it’s very durable, demonstrating superb resistance to UV rays, acids, alkalis and other chemicals.

This particular type of draw rope is stocked in one diameter (6.9mm), and in two popular lengths: 500m and 800m.

In addition, we can also supply Dyneema Braid and 12-strand standard HMPE rope. Both of which are higher strength options, also suitable for use as duct draw rope in telecommunications.

Our draw ropes can be purchased online in standard lengths. Longer lengths – including 4250m and 6300m – are also available. Simply give us a call and we can supply your chosen rope in bulk to meet your requirements.

Whichever type, length or diameter you choose, you can expect an excellent quality product. All of our pulling cords are manufactured in the UK to the highest standards. Yet they’re still available for a fantastic price – and discounts are available for bulk orders. The more you buy, the more you save.

These are some of our best-selling products, particularly popular with cabling companies who are looking to buy in quantity. Therefore, we have a large supply of stock in our warehouse at all times and can offer a very quick turnaround. Simply place your order by midday for next working day delivery.
