The surface is soft to touch but easy to grip, and it is weatherproof so can be left out all year round. All these qualities make Synthetic Hemp rope ideal outdoors. People use it for decking, handrails, on ships and boats, and in children’s play areas - such as rope swings, ladders and climbing ropes. 

If you are choosing Synthetic Hemp for decking or garden rails, we always advise drilling holes significantly larger than the diameter - for example a 32mm rope might need a 36mm hole to pass through.
