Our popular synthetic hemp rope offers the classic look and feel of natural hemp, with added strength, durability and weatherproof performance — it won’t shrink or swell and even floats.

This 6mm rope is perfect for plant supports, garden construction projects, tying down loads, using as a soft edge on woodwork etc.

One piece of rope: Use the quantity box to let us know the length you require in full metres and we will send you one continuous length (max 220m).

Multiple pieces: Enter the total length in full metres in the quantity box. Then tell us the number and lengths you require using the "Add Order Note" in your cart.

Delivery and Shipping

We operate a very quick turnaround, from the moment you place an order to getting it on board a fast and reliable courier service. They deliver direct to your home or workplace.

NEXT WORKING DAY: Customers in mainland UK (excluding Islands and Scottish Highlands) will usually enjoy next working day delivery on orders placed before midday. When it is really busy the delivery timescale might be 1-2 working days. For heavy items
(over 30kg) the delivery can take a little longer.

COLLECT FROM WAREHOUSE. Order online, choose the collect delivery option and we will email you when ready. Usually within 24 hours.

Returns

Returns are by prior agreement

  • Please email us in the first instance with your details and the product you wish to return.
     
  • We can only consider items that have been sold within the last 30 days and in perfect (re-saleable) condition.
     
  • We regret we cannot accept items that were cut to length (sold by the metre) or were modified (custom-made), for example a splice.
     
  • Upon safe receipt at our premises and inspection for condition, a refund will be made for the purchase price of the individual item less a 15% re-stocking fee. (If ordering a replacement product we usually waive the re-stocking fee).
     
  • Delivery charges will not be refunded.

Description

Synthetic Hemp is one of our most popular ropes – and with good reason.

It looks and feels like a natural hemp rope but is actually made from spun polypropylene. Not only is it soft, flexible and looks like a 'traditional' natural rope, it is weatherproof, stronger and more durable. It won’t swell or shrink when wet, it floats on water, it’s easier on the skin than natural hemp and demonstrates excellent UV resistance.

Synthetic Hemp is recommended for indoors and outdoors use. This 6mm rope is perfect for plant supports, garden construction projects, tying down loads, using as a soft edge on woodwork etc.

For one piece of rope: Use the quantity box to let us know the length you require in full metres and we will send you one continuous length (max 220m).

Multiple pieces: Enter the total length in full metres in the quantity box. Then tell us the number and lengths you require using the "Edit Order Note" in your cart.

We also offer Synthetic Hemp rope on handy reels or in discount bulk coils.

The standard finish for this rope is for both the left and right ends to be heat sealed. If you would like to have them either whipped, soft spliced or hard spliced please visit our 'rope end finishes' category.

We only sell the highest quality Synthetic Hemp rope, and because we’re online we can keep our prices low. We specialise in fast delivery so orders placed before 12 noon on a weekday will usually arrive the next day in most parts of the UK.

I wish I had found this site long ago

Several years ago I needed to replace a worn-out clothes line. The local shops could only provide 15m long ones, and thin at that. I eventually found a nylon rope from S******x which just wasn't right. No matter how careful I was in coiling the rope when finished, it always ended in a figure-of-8 hank. Enough was enough and I sat down and started 'googling'. I can't remember the search parameter, but I found Ropes Direct that way. I'm so glad I did. This 6mm synthetic hemp does the job nicely. The texture is just rough enough to give any fabric a good grip when pegged - and it coils beautifully. The only drawback is that somewhere along the line, I ordered DOUBLE the length I required, so now I've got two washing lines. Thanks guys, your product is superb and your service is impeccable.

First class experience from start to finish! One weekend I had a little project in my mind's eye for my garden with posts, solar lights and ropes, but I know nothing about ropes. I did a bit of research and found the Ropes Direct website clear and helpful, however I baulked a bit about cutting the rope and adding hooks myself (the video showed the use of a blowtorch). I sent an online query and less than 20 minutes after opening for business on the Monday I had a detailed quote, and an offer to cut the rope and fit the hooks for a very reasonable charge. I also received valuable advice about the "drape" I required. Within 24 hours the ropes, hooks and eyes were delivered! Very impressed with the website, quality of product and particularly the customer service from start to finish. I have no hesitation about recommending Ropes Direct.
