20mm 3-strand Nylon Rope - 220m coil
White Nylon 3-strand rope – 20mm in a 220m coil
Nylon rope is a premium-performance rope designed for demanding applications where strength and elasticity matter. Its ability to stretch under load makes it particularly useful where sudden force or dynamic loading occurs.
It is a favourite choice for mooring, general marina use, towing and winching and a wide range of industrial uses.
Some people refer to polypropylene rope as nylon but in fact each is made from a completely different synthetic polymer.
Why choose Nylon rope over Polypropylene rope?
Nylon (Polyamid) was one of the first fully synthetic fibres developed commercially and became famous for replacing natural ropes in demanding industrial and marine environments.
Nylon is stronger and heavier; it is more resistant to abrasion and UV rays, it sinks in water and can handle shock, which is why it is ideal for mooring and anchoring.
Polypropylene floats in water, is more resistant to acids and alkalis and as a ‘general purpose’ rope is usually cheaper.
Both types of rope are popular and have their uses – it’s your choice!
