Leaded polysteel is a heavy-duty rope designed for commercial fishing, crab and lobster pot ropes, aquaculture, mooring and other marine applications.

It is extremely strong and incorporates lead strands to increase weight and reduce buoyancy, helping the rope sit lower in the water for marine and fishing applications. Threads of lead are incorporated into one of the three strands to add weight and improve submergence characteristics. The lead threads are the only metal in the rope – the name Polysteel just refers to its strength!

As well as being tough and durable, it is economical too – sold here in a great value 220mm coil.

This rope is a standard three-ply construction, making it easy to splice.

Delivery and Shipping

We operate a very quick turnaround, from the moment you place an order to getting it on board a fast and reliable courier service. They deliver direct to your home or workplace.

NEXT WORKING DAY: Customers in mainland UK (excluding Islands and Scottish Highlands) will usually enjoy next working day delivery on orders placed before midday. When it is really busy the delivery timescale might be 1-2 working days. For heavy items
(over 30kg) the delivery can take a little longer.

COLLECT FROM WAREHOUSE. Order online, choose the collect delivery option and we will email you when ready. Usually within 24 hours.

Returns

Returns are by prior agreement

  • Please email us in the first instance with your details and the product you wish to return.
     
  • We can only consider items that have been sold within the last 30 days and in perfect (re-saleable) condition.
     
  • We regret we cannot accept items that were cut to length (sold by the metre) or were modified (custom-made), for example a splice.
     
  • Upon safe receipt at our premises and inspection for condition, a refund will be made for the purchase price of the individual item less a 15% re-stocking fee. (If ordering a replacement product we usually waive the re-stocking fee).
     
  • Delivery charges will not be refunded.

Leaded Polysteel Rope – 10mm in a 220m coil

Leaded polysteel is a high-performance hybrid rope designed for marine environments where durability, weight and high breaking strains are important.

By blending high-tenacity polypropylene and polyethylene fibres, this rope is 25-30% stronger than standard polypropylene.

The slightly "waxy" finish provides superior abrasion resistance, protecting the line when dragged over rocky seabeds or through metal haulers.

While both Polysteel and Leaded Polysteel are denser and tougher than regular poly rope, only the leaded version features a weighted core. If your application benefits from a rope with added weight and reduced buoyancy, Leaded Polysteel offers improved submergence compared with standard floating poly rope.

First class experience from start to finish! One weekend I had a little project in my mind's eye for my garden with posts, solar lights and ropes, but I know nothing about ropes. I did a bit of research and found the Ropes Direct website clear and helpful, however I baulked a bit about cutting the rope and adding hooks myself (the video showed the use of a blowtorch). I sent an online query and less than 20 minutes after opening for business on the Monday I had a detailed quote, and an offer to cut the rope and fit the hooks for a very reasonable charge. I also received valuable advice about the "drape" I required. Within 24 hours the ropes, hooks and eyes were delivered!
