Synthetic Hemp has all the appearance of natural hemp rope with the advantages of using synthetic material. Synthetic Hemp rope:

• Is made from spun Polypropylene
• Is UV resistant
• Won’t swell or shrink when wet
• Floats in water
• Is easier on the skin than natural hemp

All these qualities make Synthetic Hemp rope ideal outdoors - ideal for decking, handrails, on ships and boats, and in children’s play areas - such as rope swings, ladders and climbing ropes. The surface is soft to touch but easy to grip, and it is weatherproof so can be left out all year round.

If you are choosing Synthetic Hemp for decking or garden rails, we always advise drilling holes significantly larger than the diameter - for example a 32mm rope might need a 36mm hole to pass through.
