Delivery and Shipping

We operate a very quick turnaround, from the moment you place an order to getting it on board a fast and reliable courier service. They deliver direct to your home or workplace.

NEXT WORKING DAY: Customers in mainland UK (excluding Islands and Scottish Highlands) will usually enjoy next working day delivery on orders placed before midday. When it is really busy the delivery timescale might be 1-2 working days. For heavy items
(over 30kg) the delivery can take a little longer.

COLLECT FROM WAREHOUSE. Order online, choose the collect delivery option and we will email you when ready. Usually within 24 hours.

Returns

Returns are by prior agreement

  • Please email us in the first instance with your details and the product you wish to return.
     
  • We can only consider items that have been sold within the last 30 days and in perfect (re-saleable) condition.
     
  • We regret we cannot accept items that were cut to length (sold by the metre) or were modified (custom-made), for example a splice.
     
  • Upon safe receipt at our premises and inspection for condition, a refund will be made for the purchase price of the individual item less a 15% re-stocking fee. (If ordering a replacement product we usually waive the re-stocking fee).
     
  • Delivery charges will not be refunded.

Description

A Solid Oak Swing Seat crafted from English-grown oak, sourced from a family-run hardwood timber mill in Norfolk.

Perfect to hang from trees, pergolas or porches. The oak seat has been lightly sanded but otherwise left as nature intended, without any chemical treatment. The kiln dried oak may silver in colour over time and could naturally contort or even split a little, all of which will enhance it's appearance.

The rope used is 16mm Synthetic Hemp, chosen for it's soft feel and natural appearance. Traditional splices by the fair hands of our own rope craftsmen have been used for the top soft splice and the tail join. The rope will not rot and is UV stabilised, so should give many years of trouble-free use. As with all ropes though, it should be inspected every now and again for condition.

The seat dimensions are a generous 750mm x 250mm x 30mm. The pair of 16mm Synthetic Hemp Ropes have an overall length of 2.5m with the tail section taking up 1m. Please note that these measurements are approximate and can vary slightly.

If you would like longer ropes than the 2.5m provided, simply purchase two more additional lengths of the 16mm Synthetic Hemp Rope and when checking out put a note in the 'delivery notes or comments'. Please note that you only need to purchase the additional lengths required. For example, for a swing with ropes of 4m long you will need to purchase an extra 2 x 1.5m = 3m of rope.

Fantastic quality swing and such helpful customer service - we had a tricky high branch and after speaking to ropes direct they sent over some sketches of possibilities and then custom designed and made the ropes. First class experience from start to finish! One weekend I had a little project in my mind's eye for my garden with posts, solar lights and ropes, but I know nothing about ropes. I did a bit of research and found the Ropes Direct website clear and helpful, however I baulked a bit about cutting the rope and adding hooks myself (the video showed the use of a blowtorch). I sent an online query and less than 20 minutes after opening for business on the Monday I had a detailed quote, and an offer to cut the rope and fit the hooks for a very reasonable charge. I also received valuable advice about the "drape" I required. Within 24 hours the ropes, hooks and eyes were delivered! Very impressed with the website, quality of product and particularly the customer service from start to finish. I have no hesitation about recommending Ropes Direct.
