4/50 Sisal Twine 4.25kg spool
4-ply / 6mm Sisal Twine in a 210m spool
Sisal twine is made from fibres taken from the leaves of the sisal plant (Agave Sisalana). It is therefore 100% natural and is made with a traditional 4-ply twist.
It has everything a gardener or smallholder needs in a general-purpose string: It is strong, versatile and easy to grip and tie securely because of its rugged and hairy texture. It is undyed so is fully biodegradable, decomposing naturally.
There’s little to no stretching. It offers good resistance to sunlight and outdoor conditions compared with many other natural twines.
All in all, a reliable choice that looks good and performs well.
Common uses for our Sisal twine
Characteristics:
Why choose Sisal twine over Jute or Flax Hemp?
Sisal, jute, flax and hemp are all traditional natural twines that have been used for a huge variety of jobs, over hundreds of years.
For many everyday jobs they'll do a similar job. The choice usually comes down to the appearance, feel and the environment they'll be used in.
Sisal has a pleasingly rustic appearance and with its soft, hairy texture is easy to grip and knot.
It is particularly popular with gardeners, growers, smallholders and farmers because it's comfortable to handle, holds knots well and performs reliably outdoors.
If you're looking for a softer decorative string for crafts or gift wrapping, jute may be a better choice. If you prefer a finer, smoother finish flax hemp twine may suit your project better.
Available in generous balls and spools, our sisal twine offers excellent value for money, especially in our discounted, multipack bales.
