A complete range of high-quality steel ropes

We currently stock three different types of wire rope, including:

1. PVC coated steel wire rope – a low-cost alternative to stainless steel wire rope. This is supplied on 50m reels, in both 7x7 and 7x19 strands. 3mm, 4mm, 5mm and 6mm diameters are available and you can choose from a variety of colours, including clear, black, white, red, yellow, green and blue.

2. Galvanised steel wire rope – this is a zinc-plated (i.e. galvanised) wire rope, sold in a broad spectrum of diameters, from 1.5mm – 8mm. 6x19 strand wire ropes can be supplied in 100m lengths. Whilst 7x7 strand galvanised steel ropes are available on both 100m and 50m wooden reels. 

3. Stainless steel wire rope – our stainless steel rope comes in three diameters, 1.5mm, 2mm and 3mm. It has 7 strands, with 7 filaments in each (7x7), and comes supplied on 50m and 100m reels.

In addition, we also have a selection of aluminium ferrules, as well as wire rope accessories – such as wire rope crimping and cutting tools, PVC electrical tape, wire rope grips, duplex grips and more. All of which are available at a low cost, despite their exceptional quality, and can be delivered to your address the next working day.

What can steel rope be used for?

Steel rope is most commonly seen in a commercial or industrial setting. For example, it’s frequently used for cabling, catenary systems, railings, fencing, rigging and for creating robust shop displays. However, it can also be used for domestic purposes, particularly as a sturdy outdoor washing line.

How should I handle steel wire ropes?

Wire rope should be handled carefully. To ensure safety and keep the rope in perfect condition, it’s always a good idea to wear gloves and operators must be properly trained and protected.

You should also:

  • take care when unreeling the rope. It can be very springy and there’s a risk of hitting and injuring someone close by.
  • shorten the rope by cutting it, rather than knotting.
  • store the rope somewhere dry and well ventilated.
  • avoid exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • never kink the rope, wind it in tight circles or subject it to shock loads.
