A wide range of Barrier Ropes for crowd control

All of our indoor and outdoor barrier ropes have either a traditional three-strand or modern braided construction:

24mm PolySilk Barrier Ropes

This is the mainstay of our indoor Barrier Rope collection. Our beautiful 24mm PolySilk ropes come in seven colours (pink, red, purple, white, black, silver grey, and navy) and can even be used outdoors too. They can either be supplied by the metre (with brass hooks supplied or pre-fitted if required) or in pre-cut lengths (1.2m, 1.5m, 1.8m, and 2.4m).

Made from multifilament polypropylene fibres, key features include its softness and smoothness – but they have excellent strength and durability, making them suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

24-36mm Natural and Natural-Style Barrier Ropes

Many people prefer a ‘traditional’ rope look, which is why we provide 24-36mm natural and natural-style barrier ropes.

Our best seller is without doubt Synthetic Hemp Rope; it’s made from spun polypropylene, it’s soft to the touch and looks like natural rope. It is strong, long-lasting and a rope we often recommend for indoors or outside.

We also have a wide range of 100% natural ropes, including Natural Hemp Rope and Manila Rope.

And for the best of both worlds, our Jute is very much natural on the outside with a synthetic core for added strength.

Other Barrier Ropes

Another option that’s ideal for queue management is our yacht rope in white. Made from multifilament polypropylene, this is strong yet soft-handling and available to purchase by the metre in 26mm and 34mm diameters.

Alternatively, you could opt for our 35mm braided black polyester. Also sold by the metre, this is a 16-plait braided polyester rope with a multifilament polypropylene core, which lends itself well to use as a barrier rope.

Whichever option you choose, our Barrier and Bannister Ropes can all be supplied with brass rope fittings  – our full range can be found in our Rope and Chain Fittings category. We can splice and finish rope ends for you, too.

What can rope barriers be used for?

Barrier ropes are most commonly used in public spaces as ‘crowd control ropes’. For example, to help people walk in the right direction (particularly in high traffic areas), to indicate queuing systems, or to cordon off and keep unauthorised personnel out of VIP areas in a practical yet tasteful way.
They can also be used, indoors and outdoors, as an elegant bannister or handholds.
Some of our customers have even used this synthetic, soft, and striking rope in their gardens, too.
