16mm White Nylon Rope Mooring Line
Made by our trusted partners, all of the nylon cords in our range comply with strict EN ISO 1140 standards. They’re made from the finest polyamide (or polyamid) fibres – so demonstrate superior quality and boast a wide range of useful properties. For example, they’re exceptionally strong and benefit from elasticity, shock absorbency, abrasion and UV resistance, and a 215°C melting point.
We currently stock three main varieties of nylon rope, including:
This can be bought by the metre, in a 220m coil or wound on 220m cardboard reels (in diameters ranging from 6-24mm). It has a simple 3-strand construction. Yet, it’s incredibly tough and is most commonly used for high-strength applications such as lifting, towing, mooring and winching.
Each rope comes with left and right heat-sealed ends as standard. But you can also choose to have them whipped, soft spliced or hard spliced.
Just as the name suggests, this has a complex 8-strand weave, which is why it is also known as multi-plait or octo-plait nylon rope. It’s available in 10mm, 12mm and 14mm diameters and can be supplied in a custom length (up to a maximum of 100m) to meet your requirements.
Boasting a 16-plait braided construction, this is a multi-purpose nylon cord – perfect for picture hanging, brick lines, light pulls, window blind cords and more.
It comes in white (off-white/cream), green and black and is sold in various diameters (1.5-6mm diameters, on spools ranging from 120m-460m)
All of these products are continuously stocked in our warehouse, and available for delivery the next working day (if your order is placed by noon).
Absolutely – nylon is generally considered one of the best options for outdoor applications. Made from robust polyamide fibres, it boasts several key qualities which make it a suitable choice for extended outdoor use.
For example, nylon rope is durable and long-lasting. It’s exceptionally strong, it has excellent resistance to UV rays and abrasion, and fantastic resilience to mildew. Plus, it’s fully rot-proof.
However, it’s important to note, whilst nylon sinks in water, making it a practical choice for many water-based outdoor applications, it also absorbs liquid quite quickly and can take a while to dry. This can affect the rope’s overall strength and structure - somerthing to keep in mind if you plan to use nylon rope in continuous wet or damp conditions.
Nylon rope demonstrates industrial-grade strength, plus excellent levels of stretch (up to 20%) and shock absorbency. Which means, it’s capable of handling particularly substantial loads and is a suitable choice for many heavy-duty applications – such as lifting, towing and winching – as well as being an ideal anchor rope for boats.
The exact weight that it can handle depends on the rope’s diameter. For example, the minimum break load of our 3-strand nylon rope ranges from 800kg for a 6mm rope to 3000kg for a rope that’s 12mm in diameter.
Please note, however, these figures are not test certified.
We’re home to one of the largest collections of nylon rope, with a product to suit most jobs and projects. And as an exclusive online supplier, we’re able to cut back on overheads – and pass those savings on to you. That’s why all of our nylon ropes are available for a very competitive price, starting from 30p per metre (April 2024).
Customer satisfaction is our top priority. Therefore, we always strive to operate a quick turnaround. Order your nylon rope by midday and customers in mainland UK can normally enjoy next working day delivery.
