HMPE (High Modulus Polyethylene) is probably the world’s strongest type of rope. It is used extensively for boating, winching, towing etc, and is a lighter and safer alternative to steel wire. Read our help articles explaining more about HMPE ropes.
- Dyneema is the original HMPE rope made by Kingfisher, a well known and trusted brand.
- We also stock a wide range of ‘non-branded’ HMPE so you can choose the type, strength and price which suits you best.
Our HMPE ropes come in four categories:
- Evolution Race 78 - a 12-strand Dyneema core with a High-Tenacity braided Polyester outer which reduces slippage. Available in 3-5mm, in red, blue and black.
- Dyneema Cruise – also a 12-strand Dyneema core with a High-Tenacity braided Polyester outer which reduces slippage. Available in 6-10mm, in red and blue.
- Dyneema Compact Braid - a 12-strand HMPE rope coated with polyurethane for abrasion resistance. Available in 3mm- mm, in black, silver or red.
This is our ‘non-branded’ higher specification alternative to Dyneema Cruise. It has a 12-strand HMPE core with a braided High Tenacity Polyester cover. It offers greater strength and better value.
Our Standard 12-strand HMPE rope has a Polyurethane (PU) coating to help reduce abrasion and extend its lifespan and comes heat set and pre-stretched. We always have 3-12mm ropes in stock. But it’s also possible to request larger diameters, up to 48mm, at short notice and in longer continuous lengths of up to 3,000m. So if you have a particular requirement, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
HMPE Ultra is an alternative to Dyneema Compact Braid.
It has a 12-strand HMPE core, with a protective Polyurethane coating for enhanced abrasion resistance. Engineered for exceptional strength-to-weight performance, delivering high break loads and low stretch.
Ideal for lifting, towing, recovery and demanding industrial applications where maximum strength-to-diameter is critical.
The choice is yours!
Whichever option you choose, quality is guaranteed. These are high-performance, superior products that boast a range of useful properties. For example, all of our HMPE and Dyneema® ropes have an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. In fact, HMPE is one of the strongest ropes available to buy.
They’re also durable, resistant to water, chemicals, UV rays and abrasion. They float on water, are low-stretch and low-creep, and self-lubricating. And you can splice them, which is why they're used in many different environments such as boating, shipping and forestry.
