Natural rope with wire core

This was an interesting project, the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich wanted some natural rope with a wire core. The ropes only needed to be 2m long and we were able to manually insert some 1.5mm wire rope into a 10mm manila rope. The ends were then whipped with flax twine to help prevent the rope from unravelling.
